Behavioral Health Billing

Behavioral Health Billing Services for Mental Health Practices

Billing for behavioral health services handled by a team that knows psychotherapy codes, telehealth rules and payer quirks. We bill for therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and group practices, so sessions get paid and clinicians spend their time with clients.

The Problem

Why Behavioral Health Billing Is Different

Mental health claims carry their own rules: time-based psychotherapy codes, add-on codes, session limits, telehealth place-of-service and modifier requirements, and frequent prior authorization for higher levels of care.

Small mistakes lead to denials that are hard to appeal, and many therapists end up spending evenings on billing instead of rest.

01

Time-based code errors.

90832, 90834 and 90837 depend on documented session time.

02

Telehealth denials.

Wrong place of service or missing modifiers 95 or GT cause rejections.

03

Authorization and session limits.

Visits beyond authorized sessions are denied.

04

Carve-out payers.

Behavioral benefits are often managed by separate carriers, adding complexity.
